Another from my escape to the Grand Canyon. I always wanted a shot of me walking down the middle of the road, going off into the distance. So I had my mom take this shot for me and I think it came out pretty well. And what makes it even better is that it was taken on Route 66. I like the darkness that the clouds creates as it’s a little more ominous, but there’s also a patch of light that seems to give hope.
If you can’t tell, I like the sunset and clouds, especially together. This was walking to my car after class one day and the sunset was shining right through some of the clouds. It created this and I like how there’s kind of just a little circle of light that seems to be illuminating everything else around it. I’ve always liked the contrast between light and dark clouds in the sky, kind of makes it seem like, “Even in the darkest of times, there’s always light.” Which I think is a cool and true motto that tells us we shouldn’t ever give up because there’s always some good thing out there.
From a couple weeks ago. I was walking my dog and decided to take a picture of the lake. Although I don’t totally enjoy Irvine, I do believe it to be a very scenic place. There are a lot of things that add to the beauty of it, the lakes as one example. It was a little bit gloomy that day, but I still thought it looked good. And being able to look over the lake while walking and seeing the bridge in the middle and with the hills in the far background, it looks pretty cool. I think it’d be super cool to have one of the houses on the lake, must be a nice view all the time.
A simple picture, I was just walking down the street when I brought my eyes up for a second to look at the light, and saw it shining like this through the clouds. It was very bright, but it was beautiful. The way it shines through the clouds, and illuminates them creating a halo effect, it’s just so cool. It’s so simple and passable, but it’s just something that when you take the time to notice it, it is truly amazing and beautiful. We should all take time to see the natural beauty around us in our lives everyday, and I think this is the perfect example.
This will be the last gaming post for awhile, but I just think this is one of the craziest things in gaming right now. NBA 2k15 has a facescan feature that allows you to use your Kinect (Xbox One) Or PS Eye (Playstation 4) to scan your face and put it onto your character in-game. It’s even crazier because not only is it used for your character, but your guy has cutscenes and talks. So they’ve mapped it out so well that it actually looks natural when your character’s mouth moves. It’s crazy what you can do with video games these days, it only makes me more excited for what is coming in the future.
Another photoshop work of mine. I found the images of the individual players and the logo online but did everything else myself. I had to cut out, then paste, and arrange all the players and the logo, and then I added the “24 and counting…” part myself. I used some fire coloring for that since it made the most sense for the Heat. I’m a big basketball fan and a big LeBron James fan. I want to see him succeed and this streak was just incredible. Watching the Heat go through that, just as a fan it was actually pretty stressful. Especially since most of my friends are Lakers fans and we were challenging for their streak, only 6 games off (the streak ended at 27, while the Lakers streak was 33). But once the streak was over, it was actually a ton of weight gone because I didn’t have to be super worried about it continuing. So I can only imagine what it was like for the players.
This is another photoshop I did and it doesn’t really have a meaning or purpose. But I like space, I just think it’s so interesting that there’s an entire universe that we know so little about. Who’s to say that some of the Sci-Fi movies that are out aren’t possible on other worlds? We wouldn’t even have a clue. Space has always interested me just because it is so unknown, you look up at night and you can’t help but wonder what’s out there. If in my lifetime there were affordable trips to space, especially beyond our own galaxy, I’d definitely sign up for it. You never know what kind of things might be out there.
